"BPS Summer Enrichment" - Educator-led Programs

Alyssa DiDomenico working hard in the morning to study for her EOC. Even with strong preparation, test-day nerves are normal. When asked what advice she would give to people taking the test next year, “Actually pay attention in class and study a lot,” said DiDomenico.

Junior Evan Blackwell performs a titration during a chemistry lab in Ms. D’Amico’s classroom. Using a burette, he slowly adds solution to the flask, carefully watching for the color to change, a sign the reaction is complete. The lab required steady hands, patience, and precise technique. “Doing the titration taught me that precision relies heavily on your own patience and effort,” Blackwell said.
Juniors Cassidy Mammay and Renna Petrides study for their Eastern Florida State College finals together. “Studying with someone else can help to keep you motivated and work on things you wouldn’t think to study” said Petrides.

Curtis’ job as a coxswain is a very difficult and demanding responsibility. “It’s such a mental challenge to stay focused when you need to be, to make the right calls at the right time, and have everything you need to support your team” said Curtis. As she leads her boat past the finish line, Curtis makes sure to keep her boat energized and in the zone through the very last stroke of their oar.
