Cocoa High School Names Nate Hooks as Head Football Coach
Cocoa, FL — February 18, 2026 Cocoa High School is proud to announce Nate Hooks as the next head coach of the Cocoa Tigers. A Cocoa graduate and Hall of Famer, Coach Hooks returns to lead a tradition rich program at a school built on opportunity and the power of community.
Coach Hooks brings a winning record and a reputation for helping student athletes earn college scholarships. At Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, he compiled an overall record of 48–36 across eight seasons and delivered the school’s first ever FHSAA playoff win. In 2023 at Melbourne Central Catholic, he led a dramatic turnaround to 9–3 and a district championship, the program’s best season in seven years.
Hooks served as Quarterbacks Coach on the Tigers’ 2022 and 2024 state championship teams as well as the 2025 state semifinal (Final Four) squad, mentoring an elite quarterback room and elevating passing game performance alongside Cocoa’s offensive staff.

It's BBQ Bowl Rivalry Week!!! The Cocoa vs Rockledge BBQ Bowl game will be played at McLarty Stadium in Rockledge Thursday, Oct. 20th at 7 pm. Cocoa High School is proud to announce the Class of 2025 Valedictorian Ameena Tullis and Salutatorian Marbella Rodas!
Ameena will be attending Denison University as a Questbridge Scholar with plans to major in Biochemistry. She will graduate from Cocoa High with a 4.6 weighted GPA and her high school diploma and AA degree from Eastern Florida State College.
Marbella will be attending UCF after graduation to pursue a degree in Nursing with plans to be a Labor & Delivery nurse. She will graduate from Cocoa High with a 4.5 weighted GPA and her high school diploma and AA degree from Eastern Florida State College.
We could not have more TIGER PRIDE for these two outstanding young ladies and the hard work they have committed to throughout their high school careers. Many congratulations to Ameena and Marbella!
